Picasa, Hello, and Other Fun Stuff
This week we took some pictures in the lab and ran it as a slide show on the monitor for each class that came in. Some teachers asked about the photo edit software we are using. I use Picasa. Google provides this software as a free download (before Google bought it it cost around $100 and Google labs have improved it). How do yo get Picasa? Go to www.google.com. Click more. Scroll down to Google tools. Click on Picasa and follow the download directions. While you are at the Google tools page you might want to download Hello and the Google Toolbar. Hello is an online tool that is used to share photos or post them to a blog (and it's free). Google Toolbar blocks pop-ups.
On more tool to investigate would be Blogger. I am using Blogger to publish this information regarding technology for literacy. At Northglade Montessori, we use Blogger for the principal's newsletter, the PTO newsletter, Art Gallery, and Tech News. We link our blogs together and link them to our school website. If you are searching for a good communication tool (and it's free), try Blogger.
